A: Before using KYFE Sauna, please review your local fire department’s guidelines on outdoor portable Saunas/fireplaces. In most states, it is legal to use KYFE Sauna in the backyard of your home. Only use outdoors and set up at least 3 feet away from other structures. Be mindful of tree branches above the chimney.
A: Discoloration is normal and to be expected. When metal is heated above 600c an oxide film forms on its surface which is the color that you see. Splashing water on the furnace while it’s hot will leave additional discoloration but it all adds to the character of your sauna.
A: No, KYFE Sauna does not release any chemicals. The tent is constructed of 3 layers: 300D Oxford Nylon on the interior and exterior with 120gsm cotton in between for insulation. The tent windows are made of a high-temperature performance TPU. We conduct tests on our saunas and results indicate that when KYFE Sauna is heated to 200°F, there are zero concentrations of CO or VOCs present in the air.

A: Yes, it is possible to leave it outside permanently, although it may reduce the tent’s lifespan. The exterior material is made of durable, weather-resistant fabric but we recommend using our sauna cover (sold separately) if you plan on leaving it out for an extended period of time. It’s recommended to pack it into the included travel bags and store it indoors during extreme weather.
A: It requires simple cleaning. After use you can use a hose to spray it down and allow it to air dry. Do not pack up the sauna unless all parts are completely dry.
A: It should take around 20-30 minutes to reach 200 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the amount/type of wood used. Make sure to keep the doors closed to expedite the heating process. If your sauna is not hot enough after 30 minutes, you can add more wood, slide the stove air intake to open position and wait a few more minutes. Additionally, keeping the window flaps closed increases insulation if needed.
A: Ensure the tent is anchored to the ground to avoid tipping over in windy conditions. The tent has an inner and outer skirt, it is recommended to use weights like cinder blocks, bricks, rocks, etc, to weigh down the skirts. Additionally, the tent comes with ground stakes and ropes to provide further security.
The maximum length of firewood that can be fed into the stove is 16 inches, but we recommend using wood cut to 12 inches in length. Angle them upwards into the top space of the furnace to maximize wood capacity.
A: Thanks to the Velcro flooring included in your sauna package you can set up your sauna on most surfaces, just be sure that it is level and free of any obstructions to avoid injury. Concrete, tile, dirt, grass, turf, unvarnished wood, or ice that is at least 1 foot thick are all recommended flooring options.
